Codex is OpenAI's coding agent. It works in a project's files, as Claude Code does.

In this book, Codex is one of three workspaces, with Claude Code and Kimi Code, that share a project through its files. [Agentic Workflows](/docs/advanced-topics/agentic-workflows#current-practice-a-shared-project-across-hosts) describes how they hand work to each other.
